Mega and Certn make background screening super easy. You can run a background check directly from a candidate’s profile or let Megan handle it for you.
Setting Up Background Checks
Good news: There’s zero setup required! We’ve already taken care of the integration, so you can start running background checks right away.
Adding Background Checks to Your Workflow
Want to add background checks to your hiring process? Easy! Head over to Recruiting Settings and pick the workflow where you want to add them.
⚠️ Heads up: Any changes to a workflow only apply to new jobs created with that workflow. Existing jobs won’t be affected.
Now, inside your workflow, click the “+” button between the stages where you want to insert a background check. Give the stage a name (get creative or keep it simple!) and select “Background Check” from the Stage Type dropdown.
Adding Background Checks to Your Jobs
Now that your workflow includes a background check stage, all new jobs using that workflow will have it built in. In Job Settings, you can:
Decide if Megan should send them automatically or if you want to handle them manually.
Choose the type of background check(s) to send.

When enabling background checks for jobs, you can select one or more of these options:
US Criminal Record
Canadian Criminal Record
US Motor Vehicle Record
Social Media
How Megan Sends Background Checks
Once a candidate reaches the background check stage, Megan jumps in, confirms with them, and sends the check request. No extra steps for you. ✨
Manually Sending Background Checks
Prefer to do it yourself? No problem! Just move candidates into the Background Check stage. Your Hiring Managers (and up) will get notified that a candidate is ready for review.
Inside the candidate’s profile, you’ll see an action button in the upper right to request a background check. Click “Request”, pick the checks you want, and send them off.
Viewing Background Check Results
Once the background check is complete, Hiring Managers and above will get notified. To review the results, just hop into the candidate's profile and head to the Files section, click to download, and review.
